ENG:

Circular art proposes a shift in the paradigm of art from an accumulative to a metabolic one: from a durable artwork to an artwork capable of dying; from representation to relationality; from the aesthetics of the abandoned object to the aesthetics of regeneration. Circular art is meant to function as a practice of material responsibility, the co-agency of matter, and the limitation of the ecological footprint of creative processes. In an era of global crises (ecological, social, political), such a turn is not an expression of resignation, but a form of active ethics of creation.

PL:

Prace przyjmują postać organicznych, modułowych struktur inspirowanych procesami wzrostu, erozji i rozkładu, rozwijanych z wykorzystaniem modelowania cyfrowego, technologii druku 3D oraz obserwacji procesów biologicznych.

Seria fotograficzna dokumentuje efemeryczne obiekty wykonane wyłącznie z materiałów naturalnych, podlegające procesom rozkładu i stopniowego przechodzenia w stan rozproszonej materii. Wystawa prezentowana w Budapeszcie w ramach 22. edycji międzynarodowego wydarzenia Design Without Borders (2026), wpisująca się jednocześnie w obchody Bicentennial of Photography – 200-lecia fotografii. Jubileusz ten stanowi okazję do refleksji nad historią, współczesnością i przyszłością medium fotograficznego, uwzględniając jego przemiany technologiczne, artystyczne i społeczne — od pierwszych technik fotograficznych po obrazowanie cyfrowe i praktyki wykorzystujące sztuczną inteligencję.

Circular is an open-ended project investigating the circularity of matter and processes of transformation at the intersection of biological and technological environments. The works take the form of organic, modular structures inspired by growth, erosion, and decay, developed through digital modeling, 3D printing technologies, and the observation of biological processes. Matter is treated not as a passive carrier of form but as an active participant in the creative process, subject to change and environmental interaction. Form remains in continuous transformation, where growth, destruction, and reconstruction are elements of a single circular system. The project is grounded in the author’s Manifesto of Circular Art, which challenges the neutrality of permanence and recognizes degradation and transformation as integral to artistic practice.

The photographic series documents ephemeral objects made exclusively from natural materials, undergoing processes of decay and gradual transition into a dispersed state of matter. The image does not represent a stable artwork but records its transient condition: situated between formation and disappearance: thus assuming the role of an archive. In this framework, photography replaces conservation, enabling the tracing of successive phases of transformation without interfering with their natural course.
The exhibition is presented in Budapest as part of the 22nd edition of Design Without Borders (2026), coinciding with the Bicentennial of Photography celebrations. This anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the history, present, and future of photography, exploring its technological, artistic, and social transformations — from early photographic processes to digital imaging and AI-driven practices.

Biototem is a modular sculpture inspired by the phenomenon of autolysis in inkcap mushrooms—fungi that, in the final stage of their life cycle, dissolve into black ink. The project employs this biological process as a model of morphogenesis: the segments of the totem were developed through an analysis of fruiting body forms at different stages of decay, reproducing their asymmetry and fluid deformations. The object is 3D-printed using biodegradable filaments whose structure and impermanence reference fungal matter. The surfaces of the modules are additionally coated with ink derived from the autolysis of inkcap mushrooms, thereby introducing direct traces of biological processes into the material structure.

Biototem interprets autolysis as a process in which destruction and creation constitute integral elements of a single mechanism of transformation. The project explores the relationship between organic processes of decay and technological methods of form-making, using 3D printing as a tool for dialogue between biology and materials engineering. The resulting hybrid forms reveal the dynamic character of matter—its susceptibility to change, disintegration, and continual re-construction.Work presented at the exhibition Autoliza at Galeria WY, Łódź, 9–15 December 2025.

Projekt MYCOMORPH wykorzystuje zaawansowane modelowanie 3D do analizy morfologii fikcyjnych hybryd owad–grzyb z rodzaju Cordyceps. Każdy model oparto na precyzyjnie odwzorowanych danych anatomicznych stawonogów (Arthropoda) oraz strukturze strzępkowej grzybni (Ascomycota), co umożliwia badanie mechanizmów inwazji, różnicowania się stref troficznych i form owocnikowych. Dzięki symulacjom wzrostu strzępek wewnątrz tkanki gospodarza możliwe jest śledzenie dynamiki rozwoju kolonii pasożytniczej i interakcji biochemicznych na granicy dwóch organizmów.

Pod kątem biomimetycznym MYCOMORPH dostarcza innowacyjnego wzorca dla inżynierii materiałowej: porowate struktury inspirowane grzybnią mogą służyć do projektowania lekkich kompozytów o zwiększonej wytrzymałości, zdolnych do samoregeneracji, a splątane włókienka stanowią naturalny model dla sieci sensomotorycznych w robotyce miękkiej. Zrozumienie wzajemnego dopasowania elementów owadziego egzoszkieletu i grzybowej matrycy otwiera drogę do tworzenia hybrydowych powłok adhezyjnych, struktur filtracyjnych czy inteligentnych tkanin, które łączą solidność i elastyczność z adaptacyjną odpowiedzią na bodźce środowiskowe.

ENG:

The project explores the phenomenon of fungi from the Cordyceps genus by creating three-dimensional objects inspired by their parasitic morphology and biological complexity. Using 3D modeling technology and digital environments, the artist generates visual simulations of interactions between the fungus and its host, transforming them into speculative bioforms. These objects investigate the boundary between nature and technology, the organic and the synthetic, life and its imitation. The project raises questions of control, dependence, and transformation — both in biology and in digital culture. The MYCOMORPH project employs advanced 3D modeling to analyze the morphology of fictional insect–fungus hybrids in the genus Cordyceps. Each digital specimen is based on precisely reproduced anatomical data of arthropods (Arthropoda) and the hyphal architecture of fungal mycelium (Ascomycota), enabling investigation of invasion mechanisms, the differentiation of trophic zones, and the development of fruiting‐body structures. By simulating hyphal growth within host tissues, we can track the dynamics of parasitic colony expansion and the biochemical interactions at the interface of the two organisms.

From a biomimetic standpoint, MYCOMORPH provides an innovative template for materials engineering: mycelium-inspired porous networks inform the design of lightweight, high‐strength composites with self-regenerative capabilities, while the entangled filamentous architecture serves as a natural model for soft‐robotics sensory networks. Understanding the integration of insect exoskeletal elements with fungal matrices paves the way for hybrid adhesive coatings, filtration structures, and smart textiles that combine rigidity and flexibility with adaptive responsiveness to environmental stimuli.

NAGRODA / AWARD w konkursie: Najpiękniejsze
Polskie Książki 2024 // The Most Beautiful
Polish Books 2024w kategorii: Podręczniki i literatura fachowa
(materiały edukacyjne i szkoleniowe, słowniki,
poradniki) //
Section IV. Textbooks and professional
literature (educational and training materials,
dictionaries, handbooks).
“Książka swoją formą nie
przypomina tradycyjnego
słownika, stanowi raczej
dekonstrukcję tradycyjnego
leksykonu. Już sama miękka
oprawa, z otwartym grzbietem przywodzi na myśl postsłownik. Podobnie pierwsza
strona okładki, z nietypowym
zabiegiem – umieszczenia na
niej pracy ilustrującej jedno
z pojęć objaśnionych wewnątrz książki. Jest to w zasadzie rodzaj post-fotografii,
suchy tłok jej obrysu na białym podłożu. Dochodzi do
tego minimalistyczna typografia z nazwiskami autorek
i autorów ułożonymi na
okładce na sposób indeksu
tradycyjnie umieszczanego
we wnętrzu.
Wspomniany
brak efekciarstwa zastąpiony
został przez świadomą, spójną
formę i treść”. (uzasadnienie werdyktu jury w Konkursie: Najpiękniejsze

PL: „(…) zbieranie grzybów przenosi nas gdzie indziej, na nieposłuszne krawędzie i szwy imperialnej przestrzeni, gdzie nie możemy ignorować międzygatunkowych współzależności, które dają nam życie (…)”.
Anna Tsing, „Krnąbrne krawędzie: grzyby jako gatunki towarzyszące”.
Strzępki to projekt inspirowany morfologią i ekologią grzybów.

ENG: "(...) foraging for mushrooms takes us elsewhere, to the unruly edges and seams of imperial space, where we cannot ignore the interspecies interdependencies that give us life (...)."Anna Tsing, Unruly Edges: Mushrooms as Companion Species.

Strzępki is a project inspired by the morphology and ecology of fungi. Its starting point is the structure of mycelium and fruiting bodies—their branching, deformations, and ability to colonize matter. In this work I create a speculative atlas of organisms that do not exist in biological reality but emerge as visual hybrids of different species of fungi, lichens, and other forms of life.

The images depict organic, semi-abstract forms resembling fragments of mycelium, spores, and fungal tissue—structures that expand, swell, or disintegrate. Their shapes suggest processes of growth and mutation, as if drawn from an unknown taxonomy. The project treats fungi as a model of interspecies interdependence and decomposition processes that simultaneously enable the emergence of new forms of life.

ENG: It is an anthropogenic phenomenon of the loss of symbiotic algae by coral forming coral reefs. The direct impact on their deteriorating situation is caused by the increase in the average sea and ocean temperatures, resulting from global climate warming. Coral reefs belong to the most sensitive ecosystems to climate changes. Coral polyps live in symbiotic relationships with microscopic algae called zooxanthellae (Symbiodinium spp.), which are responsible for their vibrant colors and provide them with up to 90% of their energy through photosynthesis. Environmental stressors, such as the rise in sea and ocean temperatures, along with high levels of radiation, disrupt this symbiotic relationship. Algae leave the coral polyps when the water temperature or pollution levels rise. The coral polyps then lose their main source of nutrition, start starving, and lose their color - a process known as coral bleaching, making their tissues translucent and revealing their white skeleton.
If the unfavorable conditions are short-lived, the algae may return to the coral polyps, making them more susceptible to diseases. However, if the unfavorable conditions persist, the coral polyps will die of starvation.
Coral Bleaching II is the second installment of the project, which includes a hybrid, three-dimensional reef created from scratch, replicating the aragonite coral skeleton, and its alternative versions produced through collaboration with artificial intelligence.
